Schedule Update

May 8- May 15

Survived numerous quench link events and two power dips on Wed. and Sat.(massive)

Fri:                        Ring stabilized and in early evening beam was accelerated from g = 10.25 to g = 12.27

Sun:                      Accelerated beam with RF (open loop) to g = 20.9

Mon-Tue:              Accelerated beam W/ RF (closed loop) to transition

 g = 22.8 with 20% of the beam surviving!

May 16-17             Continue beam acceleration studies in Blue

Yellow Ring magnets ramp work achieved Slow Factor 13. The ramp rate is then the maximum rate divided by the S.F.
This puts the Yellow ring at the same ramp rate as the Blue.

May 17                  C-A Access training 1:30 pm Snyder

May 18                 Shutdown:   Switch Yellow sextupole polarities

Close the STAR end cap.

May 19                  Inject Beam into the Yellow Ring using lessons learned from the Blue.

May 22 (week of) Possible collisions at injection energy for 2-3 day with some participation from the experiments

June 1                   Target shut down for silicon installation. Will define the beam colliding milestone before the shut down is exercised.
 A minimum of 4 days for the PHOBOS detector.

Request for Access from C-A provided x-terminals
